Dragon Ball Z introduced power levels so rather than this there are just random power boosts that say whos stronger and weaker.

Another thing that was said earlier is that Dragon Ball is far more right down to Earth series. Well, Dragon Ball Z throws that out the window and takes the series to different heights.

Not only does the series happen on Earth but there are different arcs that occur on different planets and more. to not mention the earth Earth is explored on a way wider scale with even more battlegrounds being featured throughout.

While Dragon Ball Z may be a series that puts the fights before of everything else, Dragon Ball could be a series that began as a good adventure. The series featured lots of fights but they never took far from that mission to travel the planet and collect the seven mystical Dragon Balls.

This made Dragon Ball an all-around better adventure. Something that can't really be said for Dragon Ball Z.

Dragon Ball may be a series that has more "realistic" and right down to Earth battles. Dragon Ball Z took things up a notch by making the playing field lots larger during the fights.

Dragon Ball Z puts the characters in these giant playgrounds that allow them to actually blow their own horns what quantity more powerful all has become since that original run. Hence why there are such a big amount of explosions throughout the series.

DRAGON BALL HAS BETTER CHOREOGRAPHY

Dragon Ball Z may have the larger battles but Dragon Ball definitely trumps its sequel series success when it involves actual fight choreography. a chunk of the series that had a giant hand during this is that the martial arts origins of the battle style within the manga.

Even within the anime with the sooner animation, these fights are astounding. an enormous highlight of the series is unquestionably each World Tournament arc with fights like Goku vs Krillin and Goku vs Jackie Chun being two of the most effective fights within the series.
